Welcome to a new school year! We are looking forward to a year full of positive experiences and learning with the children. In order to begin in a positive and proactive manner we would like to let you know about a few important things that happen in our classroom throughout the year:
1. Shoes: For safety reasons, children at Lake Bonavista School are required to wear shoes at all times. Please send a pair of indoor shoes to school with your child that they can use for the classroom. Please ensure your child has appropriate gym shoes (running shoes with laces or Velcro that can be tightened) at school for safe participation in daily physical education.
2. Late arrivals: If your child will be late for school please remind them to come in the front door and stop at the office for a late slip before they go down to the classroom even if you have called to notify the office of the late arrival.
3. Volunteers: Volunteers are welcome in our classroom. If you are able to volunteer this year, please complete the volunteer paperwork (police clearance is valid for 5 years and an annual school registration).
4. Headphones: Students will have the opportunity to engage in digital literacy activities throughout the year. To allow for minimal disruption, we ask that each child bring in a labelled set of headphones to keep in their cubby for the school year.
