Social Studies | Alberta's History 

Students are learning how Alberta's fossil heritage contributes to the province's unique character. Also, we are learning how archeologists and paleontologists discovered the presence of dinosaurs in Alberta.

Science | Waste in our World

We produce too much waste. It is more important than ever to reduce the amount of natural resources being used in manufacturing processes, as well as increasing recycling rates and reusing materials.

Math | Decimals

We continue to learn more about decimals. A decimal is any number in our base-ten number system. Specifically, we will be using numbers that have one or more digits to the right of the decimal point in this unit of lessons. The decimal point is used to separate the ones place from the tenths place in decimals. (It is also used to separate dollars from cents in money.)  As we move to the right of the decimal point, each number place is divided by 10.  We discussed and practiced creating 100-chart grids with different decimals and comparing them with fractions.

Book Drive & Book Swap

Tomorrow, June 14th we will be celebrating our love of reading by having a picnic with a book. Students will spend some time outside reading their favorite books with their buddy class.

Jun 25 - Grade 6 Moving On Ceremony 1:30 pm
Jun 26 – Year End Assembly (time to be determined)
Jun 27 – Early Dismissal, Last Day of School for students
