Learning Tasks:
Wednesday Checkpoint
Below is the list of learning tasks we've started this week. During work period, students work individually or with a partner to complete their tasks. Except for the writing challenge and the problem of the week, all tasks can be completed in 5 to 20 minutes. Students that haven't finished the majority of their learning tasks were encouraged to take some of their activities home today.

Writing Challenge
This week students are working to create a story and develop a StopMotion video. They are very excited and eager to develop their videos. We have discussed about the creative process to develop animation and videos. Some students are working independently and others with a partner. This project will take two weeks to complete. So, they will have enough time to develop their stories before they start their videos.
Creative process:
- Write your story on your journal
- Design all details of your story (background, characters, props). You can use photographs, materials and toys to develop your story.
- Develop your video (you can also add dialogue, music and sounds to your video)

We want our students to get excited about reading. As they participate and are encouraged to choose their own books, they become more motivated and interested in reading. Students have access to Scholastic catalogues to order books and learning games. If you are interested, ask your child if they have a book catalogue.
