This week we worked together to discover the best ways to count different objects. Using our Math Models below and working in small groups, students tried to find shortcuts to count different items in the grocery store.
Today, we discussed as a whole class how each model works and how can we use them to solve multiplication problems. After, every student was able to practice and finish the work with our grocery store.
Science & ART | Layers of the Earth
As we learn about Rocks and Minerals, we connect our knowledge with different forms of expression. Today we created the layers of the Earth using modelling clay. The result was awesome:
We still need Volunteers for March 19th
We are going on a field trip to the Studio Bell in Downtown and we need at least five volunteers to chaperone our students. Please send me an email if you are available on this day.
It will be a full day field trip from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

Our School Spirit! Family Dance is coming up quickly and we’re still in need of a lot of volunteers. Each volunteer opportunity is only half an hour, so you can slip away and have fun with other parents at various stations!
Not able to volunteer time that night? We have another way you can contribute.
We’re looking for bakers (or purchasers) to provide cakes, cupcakes or other baked goods as prizes for our very popular Cake Walk event running at the dance. Donating 12 cupcakes? Put six each in two containers and sign up for two baked goods. Awesome!! *The baked items can be dropped off at the front entrance of the school on Wednesday morning or afternoon.
*Thank you for bringing a cake or baked item! Please be aware that the dish your cake is sent to us on will not be returned to you.
Please ensure all baked items are either nut free or labelled as containing nuts or as Gluten Free, etc.
